WOLFMOTHER Releases Statement Regarding European Tour Cancellation

Australian retro-rock combo WOLFMOTHER has issued the following statement:

"WOLFMOTHER have regretfully been forced to cancel their European tour due to an undisclosed health issue. The band does not take these decisions lightly and would like to apologize first and foremost to the fans for any inconvenience this may cause."

A different statement from the band, released to organizers of the Main Square Festival in France, reportedly read, "We are sorry to announce that WOLFMOTHER have been forced to cancel its full European tour for June and July. Due to medical reasons, Andrew Stockdale, WOLFMOTHER's lead singer, is unable to fly."

Between dates on its recent tour with AC/DC, WOLFMOTHER filmed a video for its new single, "Far Away". The clip, which was shot in Sydney with director Sam Stephens of Hydra (PASSION PIT's "The Reeling", MUSE's "Uprising"),can be viewed below.

"Far Away" comes off WOLFMOTHER's second album, "Cosmic Egg", which sold 28,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 16 on The Billboard 200 chart. Released on October 27, 2009, the group's first CD since the departure of drummer Myles Heskett and bassist/keyboardist Chris Ross was recorded in Los Angeles with heralded U.K. producer Alan Moulder.

WOLFMOTHER recently parted ways with drummer Dave Atkins and replaced him with Will Rockwell-Scott of MOONEY SUZUKI and HAR MAR SUPERSTAR fame.

WOLFMOTHER's 2006 debut sold more than 500,000 copies in the U.S. and featured the Grammy-winning single "Woman".
